Spied - Force Traveller 26 CNG variant spotted in Pune
Our friends over at Motorbash have spied what seems to be a production-ready Force Traveller 26-seater CNG version. Given the state at which the spied test mule is, with absolutely no camouflage, it appears like the mini-bus is ready for its launch.
The Traveller 26-seater (showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, and launched later in the same year) is constructed on a monocoque chassis formed from pressed steel panels and is powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 129 bhp. The diesel engine also produces a peak torque of 295 Nm. It remains to be seen how Force will modify this powertrain for the CNG variant. The Traveller 26 carries a G32 Mercedes 5-speed synchromesh gearbox which looks good for the alternate fueled variant as well.
The Traveller 26 gets semi elliptical leaf spring suspension both on the front and the back paired with hydraulic telescopic shocks. It is 6,770 mm long, 2,225 mm wide and 2,670 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 4,020 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm.
Features such as disc brakes on all wheels, and a high power to weight ratio are expected on the CNG variant too.
We are tempted to think that Force will display the green version of the Traveller 26 at Auto Expo 2014.
