Ford Freestyle starts reaching dealerships ahead of April launch
The Ford Freestyle has started touching dealerships yards as evident from images shared by Motor World India. The Figo based crossover was unveiled in India in January and is expected to go on sale in April 2018. The car manufactured in India will sell globally including Europe as the Ford Ka+ Active.
Ford has given the variant a new mesh grille, chunkier front and rear bumpers with faux silver skid plates, a new set of alloy wheels, body cladding, roof rails, and body decals. Compared to Figo currently on sale, the Ford Freestyle gets an updated centre console with a centrally mounted touchscreen. It comes equipped with Ford's SYNC3 infotainment setup.
Making its debut alongside the Freestyle is Ford's 1.2 L 3-cylinder petrol engine from the Dragon family. The naturally aspirated unit produces 96 PS and 120 Nm and comes paired with a new 5-speed manual transmission. Diesel variants borrow the Figo’s 1.5 L TDCi unit, which puts out 100 PS and 215 Nm paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
