IAB Report - India-bound Ford Ka's (Figo) center console revealed
Ford of Brazil continue to release new images of the new Ford Ka and Ka+, which will launch in the region from next month onwards.
Seen here is the center console of the new Ka twins, which features Ford's new SYNC and AppLink system. The system supports voice activated commands and can dial and answer calls, and also allows the driver to change music preferences without the need to reach out to the center console. The AppLink system supports smartphone applications which, in India, include CricInfo and MapMyIndia. The AppLink system was introduced in India this month on the refreshed 2014 Fiesta.
In Brazil, both cars are announced to get a 1.0-liter three-cylinder non-turbocharged engine which is good for 85 hp and 107 Nm of torque. A more powerful 111 hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine could also be seen on these cars. The engines are capable of running on gasoline and ethanol. The Ka hatchback will likely launch in India next year and will succeed the Figo, while a sub-4 meter version of the Ka+ will be introduced in India in 2015 as a successor to the Ford Classic. Both cars would be made at Ford's upcoming plant in Sanand, Gujarat.
