Here is an official promotional video of the Brazil-spec Ka which shows Ford's SYNC and AppLink infotainment systems in action. The SYNC system supports voice commands, enabling the driver to call or answer phone calls and change the music preference without taking a hand off the steering wheel.
The AppLink system provides smartphone connectivity through which certain mobile applications can be operated via the car's centre console display. In India, the AppLink supports apps such as CricInfo and MapMyIndia. The AppLink system made its Indian debut in the newly launched Ford Fiesta facelift.
Earlier, Ford has released an image of the twins' centre console but the complete cabin is yet to be revealed.
The dispatches of the Ford Ka and the Ka+ compact sedan to the Brazilian dealerships have already started and the sales are expected to commence sometime this month or early next month. The Brazilian market Ka and Ka+ are powered by a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre flex-fuel engine that develops 85 bhp and 107 Nm of torque. A 1.5-litre engine pumping out 111 bhp would also be on offer.
In India, the Ford Ka would either replace or complement the Figo, while the Ka+ sedan would be a sub-4 metre product, and a much-needed replacement for the obsolete Ford Classic sedan.
