Guangzhou Live - The Guangzhou Auto WitStar concept has a fish tank inside!
Powered by an electric motor with an optional range extender.
Guangzhou Auto, a manufacturer that goes by the same name as the Motor Show, showcased its talents, in the form of WitStar at the ongoing 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show.
Made to present the idea of autonomous driving, the WitStar concept can seat four and, if and when it makes to production, can drive on the streets of China without the intervention of its passengers. The vehicle, very interestingly, carriers a fish pod (complete with ten gold fish) in the rear bench. The idea behind this baffles us to.
The front seats can be rotated (much like the Mercedes' autonomous vehicle's interior) so as to enable the front passengers to keep a check on the gold fish. The vehicle has cameras fitted all around, which can project 3D images of the surroundings inside the car.
Powering the concept is an electric motor that can go on for 100 km on a full charge of battery, and reach speeds up to 160 kmph, and on adding a range-extender petrol engine, it can go till 600 km on a single charge (and a full tank of fuel, of course).
Much like the idea it's based on, the exterior too is futuristic. A camera pod on the top, Gullwing doors, and a mix-n-match of sharp lines are seen on the WitStar.
