In an interesting update, patent images of a new Haojue 300cc motorcycle were revealed by UK based motoring website, Bennetts. The leaked patent images came as a surprise as the company is yet to launch the Haojue DR 300 that was displayed at the Chongqing Mobo Fair 2018 in China.

Leaked patent images reveal next-generation Haojue DR300 (Suzuki GSX-S300). The motorcycle features twin-pod headlight and aggressive styling.

It would be safe to assume that the motorcycle in the patent images is the next-generation model of the Haojue DR300. To the uninitiated, Haojue is Suzuki’s partner that is responsible for the production of quarter-litre variants of the V-Strom, GSX250R and the GW250 Inazuma. The Haojue DR300 can arrive as the Suzuki GSX-S300 in select markets.

The details about the motorcycle in the patent images are scarce at the moment. However, it packs several features such as ABS, side reflectors and an extended number plate holder that make it ready for the European market. Thus, it would not be entirely incorrect to expect the motorcycle to arrive under the Suzuki brand in Europe as the GSX-S300. If it does come in the European market, it will pack a Euro-V compliant motor.

In terms of styling, the motorcycle in leaked patent images is very different from the Haojue DR300 that was showcased at the Chongqing Mobo Fair 2018. The fascia, for example, gets a twin-pod, full LED headlight. The blinkers and tail light, too, will be LED. The headlamp mask gets a dual tone finish while the fascia benefits from a compact flyscreen.

The cockpit will most definitely pack a full digital display, and the addition of Bluetooth connectivity to control music, calls and messages can also be expected. Steering duties will be performed by a tall-set handlebar that should offer upright ergonomics.

The fuel tank and the shrouds are quite different from the Haojue DR300 known until now. The tank gets a dual-tone finish with a black stripe running through the top centre. The shrouds also get a black finish while a new fibre panel sits right below it. The saddle on the motorcycle in the patent images, unlike the Haojue DR300's split style setup, gets a single-piece finish. The rear panel has some resemblance to the DR300 from the Chongqing Mobo Fair 2018, but it isn’t an exact replica.

The technical specifications are similar to the China-bound DR300, and the motorcycle in the patent images features upside-down telescopic front forks and a monoshock suspension at the back. Petal-type disc brakes will deliver the stopping power while the safety net will include dual-channel ABS. The bike is built around the same chassis and engine that is seen on the DR300. The alloy wheel design is identical to the motorcycle that was displayed at the Chongqing Mobo Fair 2018.

Meanwhile, back home, Suzuki Motorcycle India is reportedly preparing to unveil its quarter-litre naked roadster - the Gixxer 250, on 20 May 2019. The naked version will be reportedly followed by a fully-faired derivative, most likely to be called 'Gixxer 250 SF'.
