Harley-Davidson Street range available at massive discounts

As part of its Year-End offer, a Harley-Davidson dealership is offering its Street 750 and Street Rod at a massive discount in the Indian market. The Harley-Davidson Street 750, which retails for INR 5,31,000, is provided at INR 4,50,000 – an INR 81,000 discount. The more premium Street Rod that carries an INR 6,51,000 tag is currently being offered at INR 5,50,000 – an INR 1,01,000 price cut.

As part for a Year-End offer, Capital Harley-Davidson is offering the Street 750 and Street Rod at a discount of INR 81,000 and INR 1,01,000 respectively.

Is this price reduction an effect of the launch of Royal Enfield 650 Twins? As intriguing as it may sound, that is not the case. The Street series from Harley-Davidson appeals to the audience who are looking for a cruiser style motorcycle. The Royal Enfield 650 Twins, on the other hand, offer modern-classic and cafe racer styling to their buyers.

The special discount is a dealership level offer and not from Harley-Davidson India. In fact, the India website of the two-wheeler manufacturer still lists the Street 750 and Street Rod at INR 5,31,000 and INR 6,51,000 respectively. The year-end incentives are usually to clear the old stock of vehicles in the dealership inventory.

The Street 750 uses a 749cc, Liquid-cooled, Revolution X V-Twin engine that delivers 59 Nm of peak torque at 3,750 rpm. The Street Rod also uses a 749cc, Liquid-cooled, Revolution X V-Twin motor but is tuned for 11% more horsepower and 5% more torque than the Street 750. The Street Rod’s engine delivers 62 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The peak power arrives at 8,250 rpm, with peak torque produced at 4,000rpm.

Typically, American cruiser manufacturers do not reveal horsepower numbers. The Street Rod 750 gets a larger volume airbox and new dual 42 mm throttle bodies, new four-valve cylinder heads and high-lift camshafts, along with a higher-volume exhaust muffler – all of which are aimed to increase airflow and efficiency. Compression ratio is raised from 11.0:1 to 12.0:1 while the red line goes from 8,000 to 9,000 rpm.

The Harley-Davidson Street Rod is a more premium version of the brand's Street range. The motorcycle comes equipped with upside down forks and twin discs at the front.

The Street Rod comes with more premium spec hardware like upside-down telescopic forks. Stopping power comes from twin discs at the front while the wheels come in a different design. The Street 750, on the other hand, uses conventional telescopic forks and a single disc brake at the front.
