Auto Shanghai 2013 Live - Meet the Haval H2
Haval has taken the cover off its compact SUV, the Haval H2, at the Auto Shanghai 2013. So much success it has had so far that even its parent brand Great Wall has granted autonomy of operation to the exclusive SUV brand lately.
Haval is a rare breed of Chinese automaker that makes genuine products out of their own. The concept seems to be a production-ready model which will be launched in the Chinese car market in the latter part of this year.
The Haval H2 was basically the Great Wall Haval M3 revealed at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show. It had a typical ‘Haval’ look when viewed from the front. It’s a simple design concept yet appealing in some ways with the chunky grill bearing the brand’s new logo on it.
The model has a two-tone colour scheme in its auto show guise and this would likely be a standard feature. The headlamps are very nicely detailed and underlined by LED daytime running lights with another pair of DRLs languished below the fog lamp.
The rear is neatly packaged as well with dual exhausts positioned on either side. The Haval H2 measures about 4.5 metres long. It is powered by a 1.5 litre petrol engine which puts out a rather modest 105 bhp and mated to a CVT automatic transmission. The prices of the Haval H2 are expected to start from 80,000 Yuan (INR 7 lakhs).
