Hero Electric announces exchange offer to boost sales
With an aim to promote its electric two-wheelers, Hero has announced an attractive exchange offer to encourage the owners of petrol-powered two-wheelers to switch to electric scooters. To attract buyers, the company is offering INR 6,000 over and above the market value of the petrol-powered two-wheelers.

The electric products from the company come with a three-year warranty on the bike and battery. The company claims that it would translate into saving of INR 70,000 on the petrol and the maintenance of bike that the customer would have spent on his petrol-powered bike. Hero Electric also adds that the emission reduced by switching old bike for an electric scooter is equal to planting two full-grown trees.
Hero Electric is rolling out its campaign to establish consumer connect in over 20 cities, including Delhi, Pune, Jaipur, Chennai, Rohtak, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Lucknow. The nationwide campaign was launched in the first week of February and it aims to promote the benefits and usage of electric two-wheelers. Under this promotional drive, the company will be targeting to connect with consumers via residential complexes, markets, malls, schools & colleges and corporate institutions.

Currently, Hero Electric has a network of more than 450 touch points across the country and the company has catered to over 300,000 customers. The company strives to provide an ecological and a socially responsible platform with the objective of making the country greener and believes in ‘Zero pollution’ transportation in the country through its wide range of Electric Vehicles.
In other updates from the electric two-wheeler space, Bangalore based Ather Energy plans to increase its presence in other cities. The company is planning to raise fresh rounds of investments to expand into Chennai and Pune. The company has so far received funding of around USD 66 million (INR 463 crore) from Hero MotoCorp, American hedge fund Tiger Global and Flipkart founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal.
