All new 200cc bike to be launched by Hero Motocorp this month - Report
Hero will be launching an all-new 200cc motorcycle by this month according to sources, as reported by Gaadiwaadi.com. The report states that the upcoming motorcycle will be the production version of the Hero XTreme 200S.
However, according to the blog's sources, the motorcycle will enter the market under a different name. It is speculated that Hero will carry the XTreme 200S’ design language forward in the production version as well. The bike is likely to get LED tail lamp and a halogen headlight.
Showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, the XTreme 200S’ design is relatively conservative when compared to other 200cc motorcycles currently in the Indian market. The diamond-type frame houses an all-new 200cc single cylinder air-cooled mill. The report speculates the engine may come with an oil cooler as well. The powerplant produces 18.6 PS of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 17.2 Nm of maximum torque at 6,000 rpm, and pairs with a five-speed gearbox.

The frame is held by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. When launched, the bike will be Hero’s second motorcycle in the country to sport a monoshock, after Hero Impulse. Brakes include discs on both ends. Expect the production version to come with ABS at least as an option.
Expect the bike to carry a price tag of INR 1 lakh, ex-showroom. Once launched, it will lock horns with the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS200 in the segment.
