56,194 units of Honda Grazia, Activa 125 & Aviator recalled

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced that it will voluntarily inspect and if required, replace a suspected quality part in three of its scooter models – The Honda Grazia, Aviator and Activa 125.

56,194 units of the th Grazia, Aviator and Activa 125 scooters combined, manufactured between 7 February 2018 to 16 March 2018 have been affected.

HMSI has identified a suspected quality issue of excessive hardness in “Bolt flange 10X42” mounted in the front telescopic fork. All the three scooters come with telescopic fork, while the rest of the scooters - Honda Activa 5G, Activa i, Cliq and Dio - in HMSI’s portfolio feature bottom-link suspension up front.

56,194 units of the three scooters combined, manufactured between 7 February 2018 to 16 March 2018 have been affected. Honda will voluntarily inspect these models and will replace the suspected part, if required, free of charge irrespective of the affected vehicles’ warranty status. The company through its dealers will directly notify affected customers via call / e-mail / SMS for inspection of the scooter.

Customers can also check if their vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting their unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Services/ Campaign section on the company’s official website. Honda advises consumers to book their service appointment in advance as per their availability. This will ensure hassle-free service.
