Comparo - Honda Mobilio vs Maruti Ertiga vs Toyota Innova vs Chevrolet Enjoy vs Nissan Evalia
Here is a technical specification comparison of the Honda Mobilio and its rivals, the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Nissan Evalia and the Chevrolet Enjoy.
Diesel comparo:
The Honda Mobilio and the Nissan Evalia are powered by 1.5-litre diesel engines, the Chevrolet Enjoy and the Maruti Eritga get the same 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced motor but in different tuning states, while the Toyota Innova employs the biggest engine in the segment, a 2.5-litre unit. In terms of power output, the Innova tops the chart at 102 PS while the Mobilio comes close at 100 PS. The Enjoy generates the least power at 74.8 PS. Save for the Enjoy which develops a torque of 175.2 Nm, all the other MPVs put out 200 Nm.
All models in the comparo come equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Mobilio, Evalia and the Ertiga send power to the front wheels while the Enjoy and the Innova are rear wheel driven. The Toyota MPV is the only model to be underpinned by a ladder-frame chassis while the rest adopt a monocoque frame.
In dimensions, the Innova is the longest at 4,585 mm while the Ertiga emerges as the shortest MPV at 4,265 mm. The Innova also has the longest wheelbase at 2,750 mm while the Mobilio has the shortest at 2,652 mm.
At a starting price of INR 9.97 lakhs, the Innova's range is the most expensive of the lot while the Enjoy's range which starts at INR 6.98 lakhs is the most affordable MPV (both prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
Petrol Comparo:
While the Nissan Evalia is available only with a diesel engine, the rest offer petrol options, and let's admit it, for formality. In case of the Innova, the petrol engine is available only in the pre-facelift model.
The Innova's 2.0-litre engine produces the highest power and torque output of 132 PS and 181 Nm respectively while the Ertiga's 1.4-litre motor puts out the lowest figures at 95 PS and 130 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard across all the models.
Not surprisingly, the Innova petrol is the costliest in the segment, starting at INR 10.10 lakhs and the Enjoy is the least expensive at a starting price of INR 5.74 lakhs (both prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
