New Honda NC750X and Honda 400X teased ahead of Tokyo Motor Show - IAB Report

Both get taller windscreens.

Honda has teased new versions of the NC750X and the 400X tourers ahead of their premiere at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The new iterations feature revised styling as well as mechanicals. They carry the company's “Crossover Concept” formula, amalgamating on-road and off-road features.

Both models receive new LED head- and taillights, new windshield, sharper styling, and optimized chassis and powertrain.

The 2016 Honda NC750X gets new features specific to Japanese and European markets, while the North American version will carryover some changes.

The Honda NC750X is claimed to cause lesser rider fatigue compared to the current model, courtesy of a 70 mm (2.75 inches) taller windscreen. The mufflers are redesigned to produce a richer beat, and is made more compact and lighter for improved maneuverability. The luggage capacity is expanded by 1 litre to 22 litres. The front suspension gets dual-bending valves for a more linear compression and decompression damping behavior, and the rear shocks are installed with a preload adjuster, both for an enhanced ride quality.

The updates on the new Honda NC750X include cosmetic and mechanical improvements.

The Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) of the new NC750X is programmed with three S-mode levels, rather than the two choices (Sport or Standard) offered currently.

Both models will feature all-LED head- and taillamps.

The upcoming Honda 400X takes inspiration from Honda’s “FEEL THE ADVENTURE FORM” concept. It features a 100 mm taller windshield, revised front fork with preload adjusters, new brake lever for better ergonomics and a redesigned gear shift mechanism for better shift quality.
