Honda showed off the powertrain layout for the upcoming NSX hybrid supercar at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is set to go on sale in 2015 and the concept car was also brought to the Auto Expo last month.

The NSX gets a longitudinally mounted direct-injection V6 engine coupled with a single electric motor. The powertrain drives the rear axle through an all-new dual-clutch gearbox. The front axle gets two more electric motors that can vary the torque applied to each wheel individually - Honda calls it the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive).

Honda says that it targets a power output of 400 hp in a car that's made out of a combination of aluminium, strengthened steel and composites. Apart from the standard NSX, a NSX R that will focus on performance and an NSX convertible are expected to be launched along the car's lifecycle.

A new plant will be built for making the NSX in Ohio, making it the 3rd manufacturing facility for Honda in the state. The plant has taken an investment of $70 million (427.5 crore rupees).
