Nepal - Hyundai launches Eon 1.0-litre
Hyundai has introduced the more powerful version of the Eon in the Nepalese market. The India-made Hyundai Eon 1.0-litre is powered by, as its name says, a 1-litre three cylinder Kappa engine that makes a maximum power of 69 PS (68.05 bhp) and 94 Nm of torque. Available only in the Magna+ trim, the Hyundai Eon retails for 1.96 million Nepalese Rupees, an equivalent of INR 12.25 lakhs.
It will be available via Hyundai's authorised distributor in Nepal, Laxmi Intercontinental, alongside the smaller engined (0.8-litre) Eon which has already been in the market from soon after it launched in India. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, the 1-litre engine is claimed to return close to 20.3 kmpl (in the ARAI mileage test) which means on a full tank of fuel (32-litres), it can be easily used for long journeys.
The Magna+ trim brings a lot of features as well. There's an air conditioner, keyless entry, a 2-DIN audio system complete with Aux and USB compatibility, chrome grille and body coloured body parts. In terms of dimensions, the boot space of 215-litre is more than its closest competitor, the Maruti Alto K10, while there's adequate room for the occupants as well.
