Hyundai to launch a sportier Grand i10 Nios with a 100 PS engine in India - Report
Along with the third-gen i10, Hyundai revealed the first-ever i10 N Line in Europe. While that car isn't coming to India, a sportier Grand i10 Nios with a 100 PS engine is, in early 2020.
Like in the Hyundai i10 N Line the 1.0L T-GDI petrol engine in the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will produce 100 PS rpm and 172 Nm of torque. Hyundai is manufacturing this turbocharged three-cylinder motor in India now and wants to increase its volumes. It is only logical to expect the 120 PS/172 Nm version being offered in the next-gen Hyundai i20 in our market, albeit in a sportier variant.
The Hyundai i10 N Line draws inspiration from the company's high-performance sub-brand Hyundai N. It makes use of restyled bumpers and grille that are designed on the lines of the Hyundai i30 N. It also uses exclusive LED DRLs and 16-inch alloy wheels, N Line emblem, i10 sign in red font and a faux skid plate and diffuser. 6 exterior colour choices are there along with an option for a contrasting black roof. The sportier variant has all-black interiors with N-branded steering wheel and red stitching on the cover, N-branded gearshift lever, red air vent rings, metal pedals and unique seat upholstery with red stitching.

The sportier variant of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will rival the Tata Tiago JTP that sports a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine good for 114 PS and 150 Nm and does a 0-100 km/h sprint in 9.95 seconds. It should be priced somewhere between INR 7-8 lakh (ex-showroom).
