Moscow Live - Hyundai Verna facelift (India-bound)
Hyundai of Russia premiered the Verna facelift (known as the Solaris facelift in Russia) in June this year, and sales have also started. The updated sedan was seen today at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show (Moscow International Auto Salon 2014) carrying unique artwork on its body.
The first major update for the sedan brings it a redesigned front fascia and improved mechanicals. Larger headlights, a dual-slat chrome grille and a new bumper with redesigned LED daytime running lights adorn the front of the refreshed Verna. Behind, the taillight clusters get LED elements for the brake lights, and the rear bumper gets new reflectors and a black underlip. There are however, no changes to the interior of the car.
Under the hood, the Verna (Solaris) continues to be powered by unchanged 1.4- and 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engines. The larger petrol engine's gearbox options have now been upgraded to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, where the old model came with a 4-speed autobox.
Prices of the new Verna increased by 6,000-10,000 Rubles (INR 10,400 – 17,400) and they now start at 473,900 Rubles (INR 8.26 lakhs) for the sedan variant.
In India, the refreshed Verna is expected to go on sale either at the end of this year or early next year.
