India-bound 2019 BMW X1 (facelift) leaked
The 2019 BMW X1 has leaked ahead of its global launch later this year. Seen here, is the facelifted model's long-wheelbase version that's just meant for China, but the exterior design will be the same on the standard wheelbase version all other markets including India will get.
The facelifted BMW X1 has borrows cues from the bigger X models. It has a new singleframe grille that is a single-piece unit and tweaked headlamps with a squatter and sharper graphics at the front. Unlike the old model, the new model is devoid of front fog lamps. The side air vents on the front have been revised. At the rear, the only noteworthy change is the new tail lamp clusters. All in all, the exterior changes are rather subtle. Expect the same for the interior, perhaps to an even greater extent.
Interior spy shots have revealed that the second-gen BMW X1 will remain devoid of the 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster found in other latest BMWs. It will receive a new iDrive system, though. One can expect fresh trim and upholstery choices as well. As for the engine options, the 1.5-litre petrol, 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines will be continued, although they could have minor upgrades for improved performance and lower fuel consumption.
The plug-in hybrid variant of the BMW X1 is currently a China-only offering, but with the facelift, it could go global. The pure zero-emission range of this electrified variant was increased by 83% to 110 km by an upgrade introduced last month. In all likeliness, this one's not going to be sold in India.

The new BMW X1 is unlikely to go on sale in India anytime before the fourth quarter of this year.
