The Pan America 1250 is part of the company’s More Roads to Harley-Davidson growth plan. The company had previously revealed just one photograph of the upcoming adventure tourer. However, we now have clearer images of the motorcycle from various angles. As seen in the pictures, the Pan America 1250 features a futuristic front fascia that includes a wide, full LED headlight. The headlamp is surrounded by a panel on the top, while the bottom part is accompanied by a crash protector. A tall windscreen occupies the space above the illuminator.
The fuel tank features a dual-tone finish that includes a matte black panel running through the top-centre. The saddle gets a split style design. We hope the production-spec model packs better padding for greater long-distance comfort. The side and rear panels are almost non-existent, thus exposing the sub-frame.
The rear section includes a sleek LED taillight along with round blinkers. The exhaust canister gets a boxy shape along with a dual-tone finish and a tall position for better ground clearance and water-wading capabilities.
The hardware specifications include inverted front forks and a monoshock suspension at the back to perform the shock absorption tasks. To keep up with the feature list of its rivals such as the BMW R 1250 GS and the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro, Harley-Davidson may introduce semi-active, electronically adjustable suspension setup to the Pan America 1250. Braking department includes twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back with Brembo-sourced callipers.
The safety net of Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) will most definitely be part of the electronics package of the Pan America 1250.
Another key feature on the Pan America 1250 is the cross-spoke wheel design that enables the installation of tubeless tyres. The BMW R 1250 GS and the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro, too, use a similar setup.
The optional accessories showcased along with the styling prototype include a headlight grille, auxiliary lamps, new set of handlebar grips (most likely with heated grips), slip-on exhaust system, sump guard and luggage panniers.
The performance numbers of the Pan America 1250 are yet to be revealed, but the engine will feature a V-Twin layout with liquid-cooling and 4 valves per cylinder. The motorcycle will most definitely get ride-by-wire system along with multiple riding modes that come with pre-set traction control, throttle response and ABS levels.
