India Yamaha Motor achieves 10 million production milestone
India Yamaha Motor has reached a production milestone of 10 million units. The company had begun its operations back in 1985. It has three manufacturing facilities, located in Surajpur, Faridabad and Chennai. The 10 millionth unit produced was a Yamaha FZS-FI V3.0, which is one of its best-sellers.

The 10 millionth motorcycle was rolled out in the presence of senior management members from Yamaha Motor., Japan, Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Vendor park companies, employees and employee representatives.
India Yamaha Motor produced 5 million units alone in the last seven years. Scooters contributed to 44% of the overall production between 2012 and 2019, with the Fascino leading the sales. The company achieved the first millionth unit production milestone in 1999, while the five millionth mark was reached in 2012. In 2016, the company reached the one million production milestone for its scooters. Motorcycle models contributed 77.88 lakh units, while the scooters contributed 22.12 lakh units. The Chennai factory, which was established in 2015, has played a vital role in the company's growth.
