Jaguar XE spotted in India for the first time - Spied
Could make its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2016.
Jaguar has already confirmed that the Jaguar XE compact luxury sedan will be introduced in the Indian market not before 2016, and have imported a CKD kit for R&D purposes. It is expected to launch at the Auto Expo 2016, which takes place in February 2016.
Courtesy of Team-BHP reader tushky, the Jaguar XE has been spotted at the ARAI testing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, further affirming its arrival here. It's unclear still if the XE will be imported as a CBU or CKD, when launched.
The Jaguar XE will be powered by JLR's Ingenium range of 2.0-liter diesel engines, which is available in two power states in other markets: 160 bhp/380 Nm or 178 bhp/430 Nm. It's unlikely that Jaguar will introduce the 2.0-liter petrol variants, given the preference for diesel-powered luxury sedans in the country, while the 335 hp XE S with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 petrol engine is a question mark as well.

This is the first time that Jaguar will offer a product in the compact luxury sedan segment in India. It will rival sedans like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C Class and Audi A4, all of which are locally assembled at their respective plants spread across India.
