Jeep 7-seat SUV spied testing in China
The Jeep 7-seat SUV was spied testing on in the USA in October this year. Now, it has reached China for road testing, spy shots published by autohome.com.cn have revealed.
According to a recent trademark filing in China, Jeep could name its 7-seat SUV ‘Jeep Grand Commander’. From the SUV’s proportions and visible exterior elements, including the headlamps, tail lamps and tailpipes, it looks like the production version of the Jeep Yuntu concept.
The Jeep 7-seat SUV, in all likelihood, will ride on a unibody platform. The Jeep Yuntu concept was a plug-in hybrid vehicle. The Jeep 7-seat SUV, according to the Chinese publication's report, will draw power from a 270 hp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This engine should find its place in the facelifted 2019 Jeep Cherokee as well. In addition to the petrol engine, Jeep could offer a plug-in hybrid option for the three-row SUV. The hybrid variant could borrow the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid’s powertrain, which consists of a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine and two electric motors.
