Kawasaki launched two products in India today. Apart from the entry-level Z250, the ER-6n was also introduced at INR 4.78 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. The ER-6n is localized in India to the tune of 25-30 percent, while the Z250 is 40 percent localized.
The ER-6n uses a perimeter type high-tensile steel frame and measures 2,110 mm in length, 770 mm in width and 1,110 mm in height. The 204 kg bike has a wheelbase of 1,410 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 16 liters. The ground clearance is 130 mm.
A 41 mm telescopic fork at the front and Offset laydown single-shock with adjustable preload at the rear perform suspension duties on the ER-6n. When it comes to braking power, the ER-6n features dual semi-floating 300 mm petal discs with dual pistons at the front and a single 220 mm petal disc at the rear with a single piston.
The liquid-cooled, four-stroke, parallel-twin, fuel-injected motor displaces 649 cc and produces 72.1 PS (71.08 bhp) at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The transmission is a 6-speed unit, and the ER-6n also features a forced lubrication semi-dry sump.
This calendar year, Kawasaki say that it would have sold 1,500 units (all products put together). The Japanese bike maker sells the Ninja 300, 650, ZX-10R, ZX-14R, Z800 and Z1000 apart from the ER-6n and Z250.
