Kawasaki Versys X300 prices announced for US & UK
Kawasaki Versys X300, unveiled at EICMA, joins the growing list of entry level adventure tourers.
The Kawasaki Versys X300 prices have been revealed for the US and UK market. The adventure tourer will be competing against the upcoming Suzuki V-Strom 250 and BMW G 310GS.
At the heart of the Kawasaki Versys X300 is the familiar 296 cc parallel twin mill derived from the Kawasaki Ninja 300. The power and torque figures have still not been revealed. The liquid cooled DOHC mill is coupled to a 6 speed gearbox. In the Ninja though, the engine is capable of producing 39 PS of maximum power and 27 Nm of peak torque.
The bike is suspended over long travel 41 mm forks in the front and a bottom link uni-trak, gas charged mono shock in the rear. The setup along with the low seat height and relaxed upright riding position will translate to a comfortable ride. The front cowl and tall windscreen will go a long way in saving the rider from wind blast.
The instrumentation consists of a manual tachometer and digital speedometer with a gear position indicator. The Kawasaki X300 gets a standard rear carrier with integrated cargo hooks. Anchors include a single 290 mm petal disc up front with dual piston calliper and a single 220 mm petal disc in the rear with dual piston calliper.
The Kawasaki Versys X300 has been priced at GBP 5,149 in the UK with ABS. The US version costs USD 5,399 without ABS and USD 5,699 with ABS.
