Kawasaki Versys X300 - Thai Motor Expo Live
The Kawasaki Versys X300, first unveiled at EICMA this month, today marked its Asian debut with a launch at the ongoing Thai Motor Expo. The motorcycle will be available in two variants, City and Tourer.
The Kawasaki Versys X300 is styled just as the bigger Versys 650 and Versys 1000. A large windshield has been provided which will help protect the rider from wind blast. The mix of digital and analogue instrumentation are present for the digital gear indicator, dual trip meter, remaining fuel range plus current and average consumption and an eco-riding indicator.
Powering the Kawasaki Versys X300 is a 296 cc parallel twin mill sourced from the sports tourer Kawasaki Ninja 300. In the faired motorcycle the engine churns out 39 PS of maximum power at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. The Kawasaki Versys X300 also gets a slipper clutch. The Japanese manufacturer adds that the engine in the adventure tourer has been tuned for low and mid-range power, and it gives the bike a 400 km range.
The Kawasaki Versys X300 gets a long travel 41 mm telescopic fork in the front and a uni-track gas charged mono shock in the rear. The steel backbone frame is all-new, helping the bike to be light without compromising on rigidity. It is decked with a 100/90-19 wheel in the front and 130/80-17 wheel in the rear, equipped with ABS.
The Kawasaki Versys X300 has been priced at 1.99 million Thai baht and 2.27 million Thai baht.
