Kawasaki Z650 at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show - Live

Kawasaki’s middleweight naked motorcycle, the Kawasaki Z650 has been showcased at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. Here are the bike’s live images from the show.

This particular Kawasaki Z650 sports a unique yellow and black dual tone paint job. The bike follows Kawasaki’s ‘Sugomi’ design philosophy, which is found in all of Kawasaki’s Z model range. Kawasaki says the Z650 is ideal for the discerning customers who prefer agile, sporty riding. The motorcycle features an analogue-digital combo instrument cluster, with Kawasaki’s economical riding indicator. There are three rider-selectable display modes as well.

Coming to the bike’s mechanical underpinnings, the 649cc parallel twin DOHC engine nestles inside a lightweight trellis frame. The engine puts out 68 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 65 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The powerplant works in tandem with a 6-speed gearbox, with assist and slipper clutch.

For suspension, the motorcycle employs telescopic forks at the front with fork guards. The rear features a horizontal back-link monoshock. Brakes include dual petal discs at the front and a single petal disc at the rear. The brakes come with dual channel ABS as well. The non-ABS model weighs 184 kg, while the ABS variant tips the scale at 187 kg, kerb.
