The KTM 200 Duke ABS has started reaching dealerships in India. The motorcycle retails at INR 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) with on-road Navi Mumbai prices going all the way to INR 1.89 lakh (including 5-year 3rd party insurance).

While the non-ABS variant is still on sale in the country at INR 1.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), it will be discontinued shortly, as the Government of India bans the sale of non-ABS two-wheelers above 125cc displacement from 1 April, 2019.

The bike drops anchors with the help of a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear rotor with radially mounted ByBre callipers. Unlike most of the competition, the KTM 200 Duke is equipped with features like a steel trellis frame, WP suspension at the front and back and an aluminium swingarm to keep the weight low.

The KTM 200 Duke is the most successful model for KTM India accounting for over 2,500 units monthly. The 200 Duke sells more than all the other KTM bikes combined. Sales data might change next year, as the company has lowered the entry point with the KTM 125 Duke, launched in India on 26 November, priced at INR 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Besides the 125, the lineup has the flagship KTM 390 Duke, the mid-spec 250 Duke and the 200 Duke. While the 250 Duke and the 390 Duke share the updated design, the 200 Duke and 125 Duke continue with the first-generation look.

The KTM 200 Duke features a single-channel ABS unit. While it sells more than all other KTM motorcycles combined, the advent of the 125 Duke could change that in 2019.

The KTM 200 Duke ABS employs the 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC motor that churns out 26 PS of power and 19.3 Nm of peak torque. The engine works in sync with a slipper-clutch assisted six-speed gearbox. The KTM 200 Duke ABS competes with the Honda CBR250R, Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
