KTM 250 Adventure makes spy photo debut, features halogen headlight

The KTM 250 Adventure has made a spy photograph debut just weeks ahead of expected EICMA debut in (5-10) November. The photographs of the test mule were originally published by PowerDrift.

The KTM 250 Adventure will feature a halogen headlight. The motorcycle seems to be equipped with a TFT screen, although it may miss the Bluetooth connectivity option.

The test mule of the quarter-litre adventure tourer from the Austrian brand was seen with a halogen headlight, not a LED illuminator like on the 390 Adventure. Surprisingly, unlike the 250 Duke, the Adventure version appears to be equipped with a TFT-screen instead of an orange backlit LCD console. We’re sure KTM will keep some differences in the functions to distinguish it from the 390 Adventure.

Apart from the revised front fascia, the styling cues look identical to the 390 Adventure. Thus, you can see the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, fuel tank extensions for a muscular look, split seat setup and a single-piece pillion grab rail. We can also see the crash guards and saddlebag stays/pannier mounts on the test mule, which hints that the 250 Adventure will be compatible with all the luggage options that will come with the 390 Adventure.

The 250 Adventure will share its mechanical specifications with the 250 Duke. The adventure tourer will arrive with a BS-VI compliant version of the 248.8 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. The quarter-litre mill makes 30 hp of max power and a peak torque of 24 Nm in the BS-IV guise. Expect near-identical numbers on the BS-VI model as well.

In terms of hardware, we will see 43 mm inverted telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The suspension setup may carry a higher travel rating than the 250 Duke. Braking tasks will be handled by a 300 mm single disc with four-piston radial fixed calliper at the front and a 230 mm single disc with a single-piston floating calliper at the back. The anchoring setup will be governed by a dual-channel ABS. The 250 Duke misses the supermoto mode (disengages rear ABS) but we may see the feature on the 250 Adventure.

We expect the KTM 250 Adventure to be priced in the INR 2.5 lakh-2.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) range.

The 250 Adventure will retail at a relatively lower price tag than the 390 Adventure. We expect the 250 Adventure to be priced in the INR 2.5 lakh-2.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) range. A report earlier this month claimed that the 390 Adventure will be launched in India in December this year.
