Russia - Lada Vesta sedan concept caught on a public road ahead of Moscow debut
The production version of the Lada Vesta would be ready in September 2015.
The Lada Vesta sedan concept which will have its global premiere at the Moscow International Motor Show later this month has been spotted being driven on public roads in Russia. Lada teased the concept earlier and had even revealed the interior.
The concept which previews the Priora successor looks almost production ready. The production version of the Vesta would be unveiled in September 2015.
While the Vesta's design is a huge step up compared to other Ladas, it is not path breaking by international standards. The front fascia is defined by a simple two-slat grille nestled between angular headlamps. The sculpted bumper features foglamp enclosures and a sharp chin.
The interesting character lines in profile form an 'X' motif. The roofline forms a smooth arch and the rear quarter glass panel aids in reducing the bulk of the C-pillar. At the rear, the boot lid has a hint of Hyundai Verna which is sold in Russia as the Solaris. The sharp-edged LED combination lights, hexagonal license plate enclosure and a bumper with black diffuser round off the design.
Based on a new platform, the Lada Vesta could be powered by a tweaked version of the Priora's 1.6-litre petrol motor, coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The company is intending to target select international markets in Europe but is not considering to enter India.
