Lexus LF-C2 and LF-SA Concepts - 2015 Geneva Live

While the LF-C2 is a precursor to the RC convertible, the LF-SA previews a future entry-level model.

At this year's Geneva Motor Show, Lexus is showcasing two concepts - the LF-C2 (European premiere) and the all-new LF-SA.

Lexus LF-SA Concept

The Lexus LF-SA is an all new concept developed by the Japanese brand for the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Production has not been confirmed for the sub-B-Segment 2+2 urban model.

Following Lexus's radical design philosophy, the LF-SA sports a really aggressive front end characterized by the prominent spindle grille flanked by LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs below it, air inlets on either side of the grille housing another set of LED DRLs and flaring front wheel arches.

Coming to the side, the car sits on unique large rims, while the side profile features heavily sculpted elements to emphasize it bold appeal. Similar to the front end, the rear bumper is moulded to form an impression of the front spindle grille, features unique tailights and a wide rear end.

The interior also follows the radical exterior approach, but remains simply minimalistic. The highlights are a 4-spoke steering wheel in-front of a digital instrument cluster and a center console that stretches all the way back.

Lexus say that the concept is a “luxurious, driver-focused vehicle, designed to address a future world that is more influenced by technology and virtual experiences”.

Lexus LF-C2 Concept

First showcased at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Lexus LF-C2 previews a possible convertible variant for the production spec Lexus RC coupe. It features the signature spindle grille, LED headlamps, aerodynamic wing mirrors and brake cooling fins.

At the side, the concept has snazzy 20-inch five-spoke wheels, and sports a subtle side duct. Coming to the rear, the LF-C2 comes with a rear diffuser with chrome quad exhaust tips, L-Shaped LED taillights, a heavily sculpted rear bumper, and subtle roll hoops.

Inside, the cabin features a full-length center console, a remote touchpad, analog clock and new touchscreen controls. A dual-tone white and gray leather upholstery, coloured trim and LED ambient lights round up the cabin changes. Apparently, the concept does not have a closing roof mechanism, although that would change if it hits production.

Given that the RC's biggest rival - the BMW 4 Series - is already available in convertible form, it wouldn't be surprising if Lexus soon announces a convertible version, heavily influenced by the LF-C2 concept.
