Lifan X70 concept - Motorshow Focus
The production version is likely by early 2016.
Chinese automaker Lifan Group unveiled the Lifan X70 concept at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show last April. The SUV will be placed between the X60 and X80 in the company's model lineup. The production model is expected to hit markets in 2016.
Design of the exterior is very similar to the Range Rover Evoque though the size is quite different.
The body has a rugged and no-frills design. It has a triple colour layout with the lower portion consisting of black plastic body cladding on top of the blue body paint, and the roof providing contrast with its white shade. The front and rear get huge skid plates and small LED units for the headlight and taillight.
The spacious interior is done up in orange and features a functional design which is in-tune with its exterior. The center console houses a big infotainment touchscreen while silver-finished accents can be seen on the gear lever panel. The multi-function steering wheel is a three-spoke unit wrapped in leather.
Since this is a concept, technical details are scarce, though there are reports which say that power will be sent to a permanent four-wheel drive system from a choice of either a 1.8-liter or 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engines.
