Mahindra S101 (XUV100) videotaped during ad shoot - Spied

The Mahindra S101 (XUV100) has been videotaped by a person who goes by 'rjrohra', during its ad shoot on Carter Road in Bandra, Mumbai. It is reported that Varun Dhawan is the brand ambassador of the car, and that it was being filmed with a dog on the passenger seat.

The hatchback is expected to be named the Mahindra XUV100, since it is the second product in the company's passenger car portfolio to be based on a monocoque platform, after the Mahindra XUV500. It is anticipated to launch in the third week of January 2016.
Set to compete with small-size family and personal cars like the Maruti Wagon R and the Chevrolet Beat, the Mahindra S101 (codename) is expected to start with a sub-4 lakh price tag (ex-showroom) to INR 7 lakhs for the top-end model. Higher variants will get alloy wheels, roof rails, pillar-mounted rear door handles, wiper and washer for the rear windshield, a music system with speakers, ABS with EBD and dual airbags.

The S101 is reported to be powered by a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and the mHawk80 three-cylinder diesel engine from the Mahindra TUV300. Transmission options is likely to include a five-speed manual and a five-speed automated manual unit.
