Maruti Ciaz, Alto K10 confirmed for 2015 - Nepal

Follows the Celerio into the mountain nation.

Maruti Suzuki will commence the export of the new Maruti Alto K10 and Maruti Ciaz to Nepal from next year, Gopi Neupane, General Secretary of CG Motorcorp, the authorized dealer of Maruti Suzuki in Nepal told media recently.

The new Alto K10 was launched in India last month.

Maruti Ciaz was launched in India on October 6, 2014 with a starting price of Rs. 6.99 lakhs, competing with cars like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid, while Alto K10 was unveiled in India with an introductory price of Rs.3.06 lakhs on November 3, competing with Hyundai Eon, Datsun Go and Chevrolet Spark.

The Ciaz petrol is powered by a 1.4-litre K-Series, generating 92.45 PS (91.14 bhp) and 130 Nm torque. With a standard 5-speed manual transmission, Ciaz also is available with 4-speed AT as an option in the V+ and Z trims. The engine gives a fuel efficiency of 20.73 km/l, when it is paired with a manual gearbox. The 1.3-liter diesel engine meanwhile produces 90 PS (88.73 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque. Fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the Ciaz diesel gives a industry-leading mileage of 26.21 km/l.

On the other hand, the Alto K10 has a 1.0 litre 3-cylinder engine with 68 PS (67.04 bhp) and 90 Nm torque offering a mileage of 24.07 km/l, while the CNG version has 59 PS (58.16 bhp) and 78 Nm torque giving a fuel economy of 32.26 km/kg.

The Ciaz will also be exported to Latin America and Middle East in 2015.

Alto K10 will be exported to markets in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East next year. As the export of Ciaz to Algeria will commence shortly, plans are afoot to ship the car to Indonesia soon, followed by countries in Latin America and the Middle East. Maruti has invested INR 620 crores and INR 200 crores respectively for the development of Ciaz and Alto K10.
