Maruti Ritz production & sales discontinued
Maruti has sold over 4 Lakh units of the Ritz since 2009.
Speaking to The Hindu, a Maruti Suzuki spokesperson has divulged that sales and production of the Maruti Ritz are discontinued.
Its discontinuation has been rumoured since late last October, but Maruti has been vehemently denying such a development until today. Maruti has sold over 4 Lakh units of the Ritz since introduction in 2009. Although demand from private car buyers had slumped in its final years, there was a spike of the request from cab operators like Ola and Uber, which use the Maruti Ritz in its LXi (with CNG) and LDi variants.
In its statement, Maruti has assured that there will be spare parts and service for the Ritz for the next ten years. The Maruti Ritz was available in petrol and diesel variants: the petrol is the 1.2-liter K-Series capable of 87 PS and 114 Nm of torque, while the diesel has the Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter DDiS churning 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque.

The Maruti Ignis can be considered as a successor to the Maruti Ritz, although it's only sold through the NEXA chain of dealerships.
