Maruti Suzuki launches a mildly revised SX4 facelift without hiking prices
The gently refreshed Maruti SX4 has been launched today with new exterior colors, revised interior colors and better fuel economy.
With each revision, Maruti is pushing boundaries with respect to fuel efficiency. Like it did with the new Alto and Ritz facelift, the SX4 facelift shows an improvement in fuel efficiency to the tune of 6% @ 16.51kmpl for the 1.6-liter petrol engine. The 1.3-liter diesel variant continues to deliver the same fuel efficiency of 21.79kpl.
Maruti is making no technical changes to the CNG variant which delivers 22.1 km/kg of mileage. The car conforms to OBD–II and BS IV norms
Moving to the aesthetics and equipment, the new SX4 receives an optional touchscreen that can do audio and navigation jobs. The interiors are executed in dual-tone black and beige, with black and marble finish prints featuring in parts of the cabin.
The door handles and air-con vents are finished in chrome. The wing mirrors are electrically foldable and have embedded indicators.
The exterior is highlighted by a dual-tone garnish on the foglamps. The grille is lined in chrome.
Maruti SX4 facelift prices (in rupees, ex-showroom Delhi)
- SX4 VDI - 8,27,458
- SX4 Vxi - 7,38,115
- SX4 Vxi CNG - 7,99,974

The SX4's sales are nothing to write home about but this mild refresh can help matters somewhat. A need for a fully redesigned model is felt more than ever before. Maruti has to respond to this need by driving the new SX4 sedan to India immediately after it world premiere, or even better, conduct the world premiere in India!
