Maruti YBA sub-4m SUV spotted partially undisguised - Spied
Likely to launch in early 2016.
The Maruti YBA (codename) has been spotted relatively undisguised by Gaadwadi, giving us the best look yet at the upcoming sub-4m SUV from Maruti-Suzuki.
The pre-production prototype features a distinct front end that is characterized by small headlamps with LED DRLs, which flow into the vertical slat grille housing the Suzuki badge. The bumper sports a sizable radiator grille, and round fog lamps on either side.
It also gets large ORVMs with turn indicators integrated, and a contrasting black A-pilar (similar to the Maruti Swift). The overall design draws little influence from the Maruti XA Alpha concept, and its dimensions will be under 4 meters. Ground clearance appears to be similar to most monocoque SUVs in the sub-compact segment.

The YBA will, reportedly, ride on the same platform as the current Maruti Swift, and is likely to get a diesel-only engine lineup, which could pack the tried-and-tested 1.3-liter DDiS (Fiat Multijet) engine or Maruti's own diesel engine based on the new DDiS 125 2-cylinder unit. It is likely to feature the SHVS mild hybrid technology, while an AWD system may not be offered.
The Maruti YBA will enter a growing segment, and is instrumental in the company’s growth (Maruti aims to sell 2 million units/annum in the next few years).
