Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake - Motorshow Focus
Has 25 liters more luggage space as compared to the sedan.
Mercedes-Benz has showcased the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Shooting Brake is the estate version of the CLA sedan.
The model displayed was the limited-edition OrangeArt Edition that brings orange accents to the exterior. The distinct touches are seen on the bi-xenon headlamps, rim flanges of the 18-inch multi-spoke AMG alloy wheels and as a strip on the front and rear aprons. Other notable design details are the large air intakes, sweeping character lines, panoramic sunroof, tailgate spoiler and twin-trapezoidal tail pipes. Dimension wise the CLA Shooting Brake measures 4,630 mm, 1,777 mm and 1,435 mm in length, width and height respectively. The luggage carrying capacity depending on seating configuration varies from 495 to 1,354 liters.
The interior consists of a twin-tube instrument cluster and three-spoke flat bottomed multi-function steering wheel that is wrapped in leather and Dinamica micro fiber. The instrument panel features a galvanized silver finish with the upper portion covered in Artico leather. It houses a 7-inch COMAND infotainment display screen that can be expanded to an optional 8-inch unit. The sporty feeling is brought on by the sport seats upholstered in a combination of leather and Dinamica micro fiber. The orange theme can be felt inside too, with the orange topstitching and stripes on the seats and seat belts.
The CLA Shooting Brake comes with a choice of three petrol and two diesel, four cylinder engines. The petrol engines are a 1.6-liter unit generating 122 hp/200 Nm and two inline-four 2.0-liter powerhouses with outputs of 218 hp/350 Nm and 381 hp/475 Nm in the top-spec CLA 45. The 2.2-liter diesel comes in two states of tune, which are of 136 hp/300 Nm and 177 hp/350 Nm. Transmission options are either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic, barring the CLA 45, that comes with a 7-speed AMG Speedshift DCT gearbox.
