Guangzhou Live - Mitsubishi ASX Silk Edition

Is purely a cosmetic exercise.

At the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show, Mitsubishi added a special edition version of the ASX crossover to its line-up for the Chinese market. Called the ASX Silk Edition, the new version now retails for 169,800 yuan, which is equivalent to INR 17.12 lakhs. It is based on the Jin Hyun ASX Beyond edition, which was launched a few months ago.

The feature list on the Silk edition includes roof rack and comprehensive stickering on the outside. On the inside, it gets leather upholstery, a Bluetooth-enabled DVD entertainment system (complete with navigation features), dual tone seats and door inserts with red contrast stitching, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Mechanically the car remains unchanged with a 2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine powering the vehicle. Mated to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), the engine makes 167 hp and 197 Nm of torque.

First showcased at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept, the ASX has been Mitsubishi's offering in the C-SUV segment across the world. Slightly longer than four meters (at 4,295 mm), the vehicle, built by the GAC-Mitsubishi joint venture, is positioned as a lifestyle compact SUV in China.
