Mitsubishi Mirage Sports limited edition launched in Malaysia
The Mitsubishi Mirage, the small hatchback from the once rich Japanese automaker, is now acting as a saving grace.
The city car is on sale in many of the ASEAN countries and is also present in Europe under the name Space Star. Mitsubishi also came up with the sedan version called the Attrage.
The company has launched a limited edition version of the car called the Sports in Malaysia. The Mitsubishi Mirage Sports, as the name suggests, comes with sporty elements.
Based on the top end GS CVT variant, the Mirage Sports makes do with a new front bumper, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a set of 15" alloy wheels (regular car has 14" wheels). Another inclusion is the tint for the windows. The color options available are Red Metallic and Black Mica.
On the inside, the car gets black leather seats with red inserts and Mirage Sports logos with matching carpets. The 2 DIN music system of the regular car has been replaced by a Kenwood audio system with touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity. Variant specific standard features like the automatic climate control, keyless entry and push button start are retained.
Power comes from a 1.2 lite three cylinder MIVEC petrol engine that delivers 78 bhp and is mated to a CVT autobox.
The Mitsubishi Mirage Sports limited edition is priced at 72,000 Malaysian Ringgits (around Rs. 13.49 lakhs). In comparison, the regular Mirage GS CVT retails at 64,090 Malaysian Ringgits (around Rs. 12.01 lakhs ).
Only 400 units of the limited edition model will be sold.
