Production Mitsubishi XM crossover (Honda BR-V rival) - Rendering
Will enter production from October 2017.
With cues borrowed from the Mitsubishi XM concept, IAB's Shoeb R Kalania has created a rendering of the production-spec Mitsubishi XM crossover, which is confirmed to go on sale towards the end of 2017.
The XM concept will make its debut at the 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) this week. With production elements, the rendering gives us an idea of what the XM could look like when it enters the production line. It adopts the company’s latest ‘Dynamic Shield’ face, featuring sleek headlamps, heavily sculpted wheel bumper and a generous amount of chrome trim.
Boldly sculpted wheel arches and shoulder lines, floating roof with rails, as well as a long greenhouse complete its side profile, while the rear end has not been revealed, yet. Mitsubishi summarizes the XM's styling as fusing the ”toughness of an SUV with the versatility of an MPV”. When launched, its closest rival will be the Honda BR-V.

Mitsubishi has not revealed the interior of the XM yet, but confirmed that the concept is a 7-seater, claiming that a wide body and an optimized interior layout will ensure generous interior space for seven occupants.
Mitsubishi has invested 600 million USD (250 million USD to develop the MPV, and the rest will go into building the new Indonesian plant), and also plans to export the MPV to other South East Asian markets like Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
