IAB Report - New Maruti Alto K10 launches today with AMT
A CNG variant will also be offered for the first time on the K10.
Maruti-Suzuki will launch the new Alto K10 today in New Delhi and Mumbai.
The second generation Alto K10 is based on the Alto 800's body, and gets distinct design aspects such as newly designed headlights, chrome grille and Celerio inspired taillights. The car was developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan and Maruti-Suzuki at a cost of INR 200 crores.
The new K10 will be powered by the same 1.0-liter three-cylinder K-Series engine as the outgoing model. It will even sport identical power and torque outputs at 68 PS (67.04 bhp) and 90 Nm. However, it sees an improvement in fuel efficiency at 24.07 km/l, as compared to the older model's 20.92 km/l. Maruti will also offer a CNG variant of the K10, which claims a mileage of 32.26 km/kg.
The engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The K10 will be the second Maruti to get the Magneti Marelli AMT system, and will boast the title as the most affordable automatic car in India.
Inside, the K10 gets an entirely new dashboard with a dual-tone black-and-beige finish. Top-end variants will be endowed features like a driver-side airbag, front power windows, power steering, foglights, internally adjustable wing mirrors and a 2-DIN music system with AUX and USB compatibility.
