Next-gen 2020 Skoda Octavia teased with sketches
The current-gen Skoda Octavia has been around since 2013 and it received an update about three years back in 2017. It is set to be replaced by a completely new-gen model which has been spotted a number of times in the past. Now, it has been teased with sketches by the company. It will debut at the Veleterzni Palace in Prague, Czech Republic on 11 November 2019.
The official sketches suggest that the 2020 Skoda Octavia will feature a much sharper exterior. At the front, it will have a slew of major design revisions including single-piece and more angular headlights on the flanks of the new wider front grille. It will make use of LED lights on both the ends. Higher variants may feature Matrix LED headlights just like the new Skoda Superb. It may also sport dynamic turn indicators with outward sweeping LEDs. At the back, the new-gen Octavia is set to receive L-shaped tail lights and ‘SKODA’ in block lettering instead of the Skoda logo. Thanks to which the rear seems to have a cleaner design, and overall it looks more elegant than the current model.
As for the interiors, the 2020 Skoda Octavia will have a more minimalist cabin. There'll be fresh infotainment systems from the Volkswagen Group's MIB 3 range There'll be a number of petrol and diesel engine options along with a 48V mild-hybrid system option. A plug-in hybrid variant is also in the pipeline. In India, it will be offered with a 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine and 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged diesel engine.
