Next gen Fiat Punto and Bravo to source inspiration from Panda and 500
The next gen Fiat Punto and the Fiat Bravo are getting into shape at a snail's pace owing to the company's new found focus on compact SUVs.
Nevertheless, the successors to the Grande Punto and its big brother, the Bravo are on their way. Mr. Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat told La Republica that the future B and C Segment products from the Italian automaker would derive their design inspirations from the 500 and the Panda.
He added that the first product from strategy is the Fiat 500L mini MPV. According to Mr. Francois, the new Fiat Punto and Bravo should be appearing lucrative since they will have roles to play throughout the world. The new Punto would be instantly recognizable and would sport the typical Italian design flair.
The head honcho also said that Fiat's design team is in the process of deciding whether to base the new B Segment model (Punto) on the Panda or 500. The second model (Bravo) would be having a sportier appearance and would have dimensions on par with C Segment vehicles. Both the vehicles are due in 2014-2015.
While its unlikely for the Fiat Bravo to make it to India, the next gen Fiat Punto is definitely on the cards. In the meanwhile Fiat India would beef up its sales and service network.
