The Nissan Micra is long overdue for a complete makeover in India. According to a report from Overdrive, Nissan will implement the familiar dual-spec platform strategy for India's next-gen Nissan Micra.

The Indian-spec next-gen Nissan Micra is expected to have a design similar to that of the fifth-gen Nissan Micra now on sale in Europe.

Going with a report from last year, Overdrive states that the next-gen Nissan Micra set to arrive in India is expected to have a design similar to that of the fifth-gen Nissan Micra now on sale in Europe. The Indian-spec version will differ from the Euro-spec version at the chassis level. The Euro-spec version is underpinned by a thoroughly reengineered version of the V-platform. The Indian-spec version will ride on a new low-cost platform - CMF-A+.

The redesigned Nissan Micra is expected to come with features like LED DRLs, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, parking sensors, parking camera, dual airbags and ABS with EBD and BA. While the previous report said that a diesel engine option is not expected, the new report says that the outgoing model's 1.5-litre diesel engine may continue as an option to the 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Nissan will use the low-cost CMF-A+ platform for the Indian-spec next-gen Nissan Micra.
