Nissan Sunny fully revealed in low quality image

Leaked pictures have taken the wraps of Nissan's new India bound sedan – the Sunny. The vehicle might not be called Sunny in India, however.

The Chinese auto website Autohome is reporting the pics of the final product that is expected to international markets early next year. And by the looks of things we are really impressed.

Although Nissan says that this is not a Micra sedan, the interiors are such a giveaway. The two differences we can spot are the square AC vents on the dash and twin dials (instead of one large and one small one) behind the steering wheel. Thankfully, Nissan has provided what looks like a AC vent between the front seats for the rear passengers.

The exterior of the car is sort of a mash up of the Altima and the Teana. Nothing concrete can be said about the engine specs but we expect it to be powered by 1.6L petrol engine to producing round about 100 to 115 horses and the 1.5-liter diesel engine coaxing out 70bhp or so.

There are some websites reporting dimensions of the car - Length 4,420 mm, Width 1,695 mm (30mm more than Micra), Height 1,500 mm and Wheelbase 2,600 mm (150mm more than Micra). The wheelbase of the vehicle is the same as the Toyota Corolla Altis. The vehicle is taller than the Altis and falls short in overall length and width. If these dimensions are anything to go by, expect quite a large sedan with good level of luxury for under 10 lakh rupees.

What’s really interesting is that Nissan has cleverly designed the exterior of the car to make sure it doesn’t look like an extended hatch (something like a Dzire).

Nissan is quite tight lipped about any information on the car. So I guess we all have to wait for at least 6-8 months for some real scoops. Sources tell us that Nissan could launch this car for Diwali 2011, which is exactly a year away.
