In a Mumbai press conference that is rolling as we bring this to you, Nissan has confirmed that it will use the name 'Sunny' for its sedan. The word "Sunny" according to Nissan depicts sun god which also means good beginning in the morning (surya namaskar).
Nissan has sold 16 million examples of the Sunny worldwide. The vehicle has just been launched in China and will also reach Canada and Mexico shortly.
Nissan describes the Sunny as a car with a premium design interior and exterior, roomy interior and good performance. Our man on ground zero says the car looks exactly the same as the US model as Nissan adds in the background that this is a "benchmark" sedan.
There are 52 operative dealers and 78 appointed dealers for Nissan who will retail the Sunny. It is powered either by a 1.5-liter diesel engine or a 1.6-liter petrol engine.
