Paris Live - Opel Mokka 1.6 CDTI
Replaces the 1.7-litre diesel engine.
The Opel Mokka 1.6 CDTI, powered by the new generation turbo diesel engine, has world premiered at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
The new 1.6-litre CDTI develops 136 PS and an impressive torque of 320 Nm. The latest oil burner is part of the brand's new family of all-aluminium engines.
The engine will replace the Mokka's existing 1.7-litre mill starting from 2015. Compared to the outgoing motor, the new powerplant offers 6 PS and 20 Nm more while being more fuel efficient. At 85 PS per litre, Opel claims that its "whisper diesel" offers the highest specific power output in its displacement class.
Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the Opel Mokka 1.6 CDTI accelerates from 0-100 km/h in a quick 9.9 seconds and is capable of hitting a top whack of 191 km/h. Coming to the fuel economy, the engine is claimed to deliver a combined fuel efficiency of 24.36 km/l, thanks to a standard Start/Stop system. The CO2 emissions stand at 109 g/km, thereby complying with the Euro 6 norms.
