While the Porsche Macan has received a mid-cycle update and has already been introduced in many global markets, it's yet to make it to India. Ahead of the updated car's Indian debut, Porsche India showcased the pre-facelift model at the Autocar Performance Show 2018.

While the Porsche Macan was initially available in India in petrol and diesel engine variants, it's currently on sale only with 2.0-litre and 3.6-litre petrol motors.

The pre-facelift Porsche Macan has been on sale in the country in a price bracket of INR 80.38 Lakh - 1.52 Crore. It's available in three engine variants - 2L, Turbo, and Turbo Performance. The entry-level displaces 2.0-litre and is aided by a turbocharger. It produces a maximum power of 252 PS and a peak torque of 370 Nm.

The more powerful variants are powered by a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine that offers 400 PS and 550 Nm for the Turbo version, and 446 PS and 600 Nm for the Turbo Performance model. All options come mated to a 7-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

At first glance, the pre-facelift Porsche Macan looks almost the same as the facelifted version. A closer look at the updated version, however, reveals its new LED headlights with a four-pod setup, bigger intakes near the central grille, and sleek LED strips that also function as turn indicators. The side profile remains entirely unchanged, save for the introduction of the new alloy wheels. At the rear, the facelift features new LED taillights that run across the width of the tailgate. Moreover, similar to the 718 series, Cayenne and Panamera, the updated Macan's taillights have 3D elements with the Porsche lettering.

In 2019, the current Porsche Macan (pictured) will be replaced with a facelift that will bring in a handful of subtle styling updates and some powertrain improvements.

The 2019 Porsche Macan is expected to launch in India in the first half of next year. Internationally, the baby-Cayenne has been available with 2.0-litre turbocharged, 3.0-litre twin-turbo, and 3.6-litre twin-turbo petrol engines that come paired with a 7-speed PDK gearbox.
