Expected to be launched in Europe in 2017.

Porsche has just unveiled the second generation Porsche Panamera saloon. Now, speculative renderings from Theophilus Chin preview its shooting brake version in near-production guise.

The Porsche Panamera's shooting brake version will basically be the production version of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept.

In May, it was reported that Klaus Zellmer, CEO, Porsche Cars North America confirmed a shooting brake version of the second generation Porsche Panamera. This derivative will be the production version of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept. The 2017 Porsche Panamera saloon will go on sale in November and is expected to be followed by the Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake sometime in 2017. The latter has reportedly been confirmed for U.S. launch, but there's no word on its Indian arrival yet.

The second generation Porsche Panamera's design is inspired by that of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept, and thus, the Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake (name unconfirmed) looks very close to the latter. The shooting brake version is already under development, and Porsche is known to be testing it on public roads since February this year.

The Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake is expected to look close to the Porsche Panamera saloon, and thus, be not so far from the Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake concept.

The 2017 Porsche Panamera saloon will be available with three engine options: 324 kW (440 hp) 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol, 404 kW (550 hp) 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol and 310 kW (422 hp) 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel. These engine options should be available on the Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake as well, with the standard 8-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK).
