Production-spec TVS Zeppelin could debut at Auto Expo 2020 - Report
The TVS Zeppelin cruiser, which debuted in concept form at Auto Expo 2018, will debut in production guise at Auto Expo 2020, claims a new report from BikeWale. The production-spec model is nearly ready, and its road testing should begin very soon.

The TVS Zepplin concept cruiser packed a 220 cc single-cylinder engine that was mated to TVS patented Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) featuring an e-boost option, which was claimed to start the motorcycle faster by giving it an augmented boost. TVS had said at Auto Expo 2018 that the production model would arrive with best-in-class fuel efficiency figure. Apart from the conventional engine, the Zeppelin also packs a 1200W regenerative assist motor with 48V Li-ION battery. The motor sends power to the rear wheel via a belt drive.
The production version will most likely retain the hardware specifications and features. Thus, expect to see full LED lighting (headlamp, taillight and blinkers) and a fully digital screen. Bluetooth connectivity on the instrument console to control various functions on the phone may also be offered. Features like smart Bio-key and a headlamp integrated HD action camera, on the other hand, may not reach the production-spec bike to keep the costs low and final prices competitive.
Hardware specifications will most likely retain the inverted, 41 mm front forks with gold finish (similar to the Apache RR 310) and a monoshock at the back. The cruiser concept packed with a unique spoke design that enabled installation of tubeless tyres, and we really hope to see the feature on the production-spec motorcycle. Anchoring department will most likely retain petal-type discs on both wheels, while a dual-channel ABS will govern the braking setup.
TVS stated at Auto Expo 2018 that the cruiser bike would come with ‘aggressive yet comfortable’ ergonomics. The handlebars on the concept were noticeably lower than a conventional cruiser motorcycle. The footpegs, on the other hand, were forward-set like any other cruiser in the market.

The production TVS Zeppelin could carry a completely different name, as was the case with the TVS Akula concept. The TVS cruiser would compete with the likes of next-generation Bajaj Avenger.
